Concrete Water Tanks
Water tanks represent another good opportunity to use welded wire reinforcement. Water tanks are typically round and can be cast-in-place or delivered to the job site in precast wall sections. Welded wire sheets can be rolled into an exact arch allowing the reinforcing steel to take the shape of the tank. Arch rolled welded wire sheets are significantly easer to install than conventional reinforcing steel.
Since the wires are precisely welded into a sheet and then rolled the exact location and arch of the steel is maintained. Rolling and tying individual bars invites potential errors to creep into a conventional rebar layout.
